Why I Do What I Do

I love what I do, and not because I love houses...which I do, but because I love people. When people buy or sell a house, they are doing much more than just moving residences. They are moving from one stage of life to another. Maybe they are buying their first home, or maybe they have a home but are expecting an addtion to their family and need something bigger. That lifestyle change is exciting to me and I love being a part of helping people move on to live their lives new ways.

Why I Love Seattle

I grew up in Spokane, a great city that I couldn't wait to move away from. I hated that everywhere I went, I saw someone I knew. I wanted to branch out and experience new things, meet new people and have new experiences. Now as an adult, I find that the best thing about Seattle is the neighborhoods. Why the neighborhoods? Because the choice is yours, live anonymously and feel like you're living an urban lifestyle, or in contrast, get involved in your neighborhood and be known. Each neighborhood is like a small city, with it's own vibe and even culture, and you can have the choice to be anonymous or not. West Seattle is different from Queen Anne and Queen Anne is different from Capitol Hill, or Mercer Island or Greenlake. Yet the one thing they have in common is that you are free to live how you choose. Emerse and involve yourself in your neighborhood and meet all the people you want. Go to the grocery store and say hi to 5 different people. Or not. The choice is yours!

My Real Estate and Life Philosophy

I believe that people are important. I believe that people generally want the same thing, no matter where they live or what they do. Among these are the desires to be respected, to live in a community that is caring and safe and to feel that they matter to the people in their community and to the people with whom they do business. I strive to run my Real Estate business like I live my life. My clients, just like my community, are important to me. I take time to listen to what they want and to really pay attention to what they are telling me, either verbally or non verbally. Buying or selling Real Estate takes both a broad knowledge and a detailed mind. It takes an understanding of your needs. It takes an understanding of the market, both in the macro sense and the micro sense. It takes an understanding of the ever changing laws that govern the transfer of real property. I pride myself on keeping up on it all. My goal is to explain the process to you thoroughly, lay out the risks and the choices you have and help you access all the information you need so that you can make the best decision possible. I strive for each party in the transaction to feel good about the outcome so that everyone moves on feeling positive about the experience and their decisions. I take my continuing education seriously and also sit on the Windermere Standards of Practice Panel. The Windermere Standards of Practice embody the Company's commitment to the highest standard of service to clients. These are not abstract ideals; they are practical standards for the conduct of business.

My Community

My family and my community are my passions. Together they are the heart of my life. I believe that living in a community such as West Seattle, (and I believe this is true in all the neighorhoods of Seattle and the surrounding area) is a responsibility and a gift. We are blessed to live where so many people choose to live as community members. People here care about their neighbors. We know that we all make each others lives richer. To further my commitment to the community, I have been on the board of the West Seattle Food Bank since 2005. I am currently the vice-president of the board and the co-chair of the Public Relations and Fundraising Committee.
